Project Pegasus

ReimaginingVerizon Home.

We weren’t redesigning an app.We were redefining what Verizon means inside the modern home.

Project Pegasus was a strategic redesign proposal exploring how Verizon Home could evolve from a reactive network utility into an intelligent household platform for the next generation of connected homes.

The question

If the app works perfectly...Why does no one remember it?

The Verizon Home app wasn’t broken. It was invisible.

ReliableFunctionalStableMemorable

Customers opened the app only when something broke.Success meant nothing happened.

We asked ourselves

  1. Are we designing...

    a router app?or a household platform?
  2. Should we optimize...

    daily usage?or customer confidence?
  3. Should Verizon compete

with Google Home?or do something that Google can’t?

Eventually, we realized...We were solving the wrong problem.

  1. 01 · Redefine the mission

Protect, optimize, and future-proof your digital household.

Network is abstract. Household is emotional. Future-proof gives us permission to educate and guide while protect and optimize align with Verizon’s strengths: trust, reliability, and scale.

  2. 02 · Shift from tool to advisor

The app explains, guides, protects and anticipates.

Verizon Home Assistant acts as a digital air-traffic controller, optimizing device priority so Wi-Fi never lags during an important moment.

  3. 03 · Design for trust

The best utility app is the one users don’t have to think about.

High-trust proactive moments create the real app stickiness and build presence without dependency.

  4. 04 · Compete where Verizon wins

Don’t be the pilot. Be air traffic control.

Accept the hard truth about smart home: win by coordinating devices, protection, automation, network reliability, and services across the household.

Four design beliefs

People don’t care about routers. They care whether home feels okay.Guide. Don’t overwhelm.

From Today

Today’s Verizon Home interfacesTomorrow’s reimagined Verizon Home interfaces

Great redesigns don’t begin with better interfaces. They begin with asking better questions.

Pegasus challenged our team to rethink Verizon Home—not as another utility app, but as a trusted operating layer for the connected household. While many ideas remained exploratory, the work established a strategic foundation for product positioning, customer trust, and long-term experience direction.
